Locks & Security

Disc lock or U-lock: which should you choose?

A disc lock attaches to a brake disc. The X65 Top Block is compact and comes with a reminder cable; the Auvray model sounds a 120 dB alarm if the motorcycle is moved or the lock is tampered with. Make sure the disc lock you choose fits your motorcycle’s brake disc.

Among the U-locks, the Nexus mini U-lock can be stored under the seat while riding. The Nexus 124/210 has an inner opening of 210 × 108 mm: consider these dimensions and how you plan to use it before choosing.

What is the security anchor for?

The Top Block anchor lets you secure the motorcycle to a fixed point using a chain or lock, not included. It therefore complements a portable lock rather than replacing one. Plan where to install it before fitting it with the supplied shear-off bolts.
