What should you choose to clean and lubricate the chain?

Motul C1 cleaner and the brush are used to remove deposits before lubrication. To lubricate the chain, Motul C3 is designed for off-road use, while C5 is applied as a paste using the brush integrated into the tube. The maintenance pack includes C1 cleaner, C4 chain lube, and a brush.

Which parts should be replaced when worn?

The genuine Honda chain kit includes the chain, sprocket, and rear sprocket. Please note: the supplied chain must be cut to the length suited to the motorcycle’s setup. If the chain slider is worn, the Honda chain guide can also be replaced.

What is the difference between a chain guide and a chain guard?

The Acerbis chain guide is designed in particular for off-road use; the part that contacts the chain can be replaced when worn. The Honda chain guard lets you replace the original guard if it is damaged. The Karter V2 guard is also designed to help limit splashes toward the passenger, but installation requires cutting the original guard.
